Hello
We are now in Port Hedland parked up at a caravan park located on the Great Northern Highway opposite the airport with four tray ore trucks thundering past . Unfortunately the much quieter Cooke Point Caravan Park was full so here we are. Should be an interesting couple of days after three blissful days at 80 Mile Beach with friends Pam and Steve Toohey.
80 Mile Beach is a fishing haven where fishermen line up and down the beach for kilometres fishing for Bluefin, Catfish and Shark. Unfortunately no one swims there and why would you when you see fishermen pulling in 6′ sharks. Regulars come from all over the country to spend up to three months fishing. Yesterday some of these regulars put on a concert which consisted of singers of all ages and styles which was a lot of fun. There was a Kenny lookalike who not only had a great sense of humour but sang well too. My favourite was mature aged drummer Merv.
