We have now relocated to the Cable Beach Caravan Park because the two week booking limit at Roebuck Bay Caravan Park had expired. While caravan bookings appear to have eased with the finish of the Broome Cup, it still appears very busy with up to 5-7 caravans parked up waiting for sites to become available at 10am each morning.
We loved our stay at Roebuck Bay because of it’s location right on Roebuck Bay and it’s easy walking distance to the shops. Now that we are in Cable Beach it’s a completely different feel surrounded by beautiful resorts and of course Cable Beach itself. It feels like we are on a tropical island. Our site is surrounded by beautiful shady trees providing a welcome relief.
Broome’s airport is located in the centre of Broome so all flights literally come down the main street so low you could touch the undercarriage of the plane. A business person told us that the rumble of the jets used to rattle the light poles so much that the power used to regularly go out. Thankfully stablizers have been attached to the poles so it’s no longer lights out in Broome.
We also said goodbye to Nigel (also met Sue his wife ) who has been cycling for Breast Cancer from Cairns to Cape York and is now within a month of arriving in Perth. Check out his progress at http://www.bike4boobs.com/
