Today we took a scenic flight over The Bungle Bungles. The 1pm flight proved too much for David who found the bumping plane (thermal currents over the Bungle Bungles) too much and was ill. We were told that earlier flights are less bumpy because land temperatures haven’t had time to build up.
Pilot Kurt said the the south westerlies coming across the Tanami Desert created the turbulence when they hit The 300 metre high Bungle Bungles.
While the view from the plane was fabulous, we can understand while people still want to drive in and walk around the Bungle Bungles. The road into the Bungles is rough and is graded with tyres dragged behind a machine. You need to allow 2.5- 3hours to do the 50km drive in and to allow another 100kms to see everything. Caravans are not permitted.

Hi Dave
How are you? I am the Events Coordinator at the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA and was just speaking to Nigel who has been doing the Bike4Boobs and ran into you in Broome.
I have only been at BCFWA for a few weeks, but have seen your event listed as an external event, but not sure if you need any assistance with some info on our website as a supporter event and a paypal button so people can donate to you?
I noticed that the link from the “Proudly supporting BCFWA” logo to our donate now page isn’t working from your website.
If I can help you in any way please contact me on 9324 3703 or kylie@breastcancer.org.au
Thanks and keep up the amazing work!
I will leave it to Dave and/or Joanne to answer the rest of your questions, but hopefully the link to donate to BCFWA is now working as it should. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
