Day 11: 8kms south Curtin Springs

Yesterday was a very difficult day for David who battled headwinds and his painful right foot for twelve hours making his times slower and finishing very late in the day.

Determined to continue David has cut the top of his shoes for relief, but may need to revert to his existing shoes.  While we are hopeful David will be able to again start running, it doesn’t look good at this stage as we are now into the fifth day of him walking.

Either way, if he has to walk the rest of the way back to Alice David says he will.

Today, David is feeling more upbeat and is talking of running again, but we are very cautious and don’t want to jeopardize the finish.

    Hi to you all

Yes Dad has been doing this one very hard. He has been walking from day 7 and things are still as they were – possibly a shin splint. It was very bad coming into Uluru but seems ever so slightly better today (Day 14), We are icing and elevating the leg and strapping it up.

Personally, I think it will only get better when the event finishes (on Monday 18th May) and he is off the leg.

    Love Dad and Jo
