After a long drive we have at last arrived in Alice Springs. We are staying at the MacDonell Range Resort Park which is situated at the base of the beautiful Macdonell Ranges.
It’s a lovely 23c here and after Mt Isa, Longreach, Emerald etc it feels cold. The all familiar flies are out in force so our fly-nets are going to be a necessity for the Outback Challenge which is starting in only a week.
On our way into Alice Springs we visited the Devils Marbles which are weathered marble like granite rocks scattered over a small area north of Alice Springs. Some of the marbles sit precariously on top of one another waiting for an unsuspecting tourist to walk under it!
We had a flat tyre prior to leaving Mt Isa (tyre had split on wall of tyre). Unfortunately Kia tyres are different to the Toyota and Nissan tyres that are everywhere in the outback, so we had to make do with another brand close in size.
We will be using the next week to meet with some of the people helping with the Outback Challenge (Prostate Representative Murray Neck, Mayor of Alice Damien Ryan and Media)

Just wanted to wish Dave all the best in the Outback Challenge and congratulate Jo on the superb work she is doing in support.

Hi Paul
Lovely to hear from you Paul. Thanks for the support. We have finished reading the book you sent us and have used the ideas in it to change our eating and help influence others to change to eat more fruit and vegetables and less meat and dairy.
We have been surprised at how clean and attractive (Macdonald Ranges etc) Alice Springs is and able to see the Anzac Parade as it went through the main streets today.
Hope that you are keeping well and look forward to catching up with you again very soon.
Jo and David
Hi Jo and David. Wishing you all the best for your new challenge.
Good Luck
Love Luke
Hi Luke
Are you looking after our Rockhampton house for us! We will have to come back to do an inspection.
How did you go at the Yeppon Triathlon?
Thanks so much for your wishes for the next challenge. David is keen to do the run in under 21days. The weather is on our side and his fitness is very good so don’t be surprised if he does it!
Give our love to Mum and Dad
Jo and Davidx
