It is now only a week before we leave Yeppoon for Alice Springs to start the Outback Challenge May 1st, 2009.
Prostate Cancer Representative in Alice Springs Murray Neck has been very helpful in organizing the Alice Springs Mayor Damien Ryan and up to 6 fellow wheelbarrowers to see Dave off from the top of the Todd Mall at 9am on Friday May 1st, 2009.
We will be picking up our new Outback Challenge Tshirts Thursday so we will be looking the part. The shirts will have Dave’s caricature on the front as before and an ochre coloured outback theme on the back.
In training for this next challenge, David did a 7.5kms mountain run up Mt Archer Sunday with his barrow in less than 56 minutes! We can’t imagine anyone mad enough to run up this mountain with a wheelbarrow. It’s a good chance it is a first. It has been very humid here but on that morning it was fortunately cooler and rainy. I ran and walked the course!
The overall winner did it in 38 minutes without a barrow.
