Hi Everyone
We are now in Rockhampton having arrived last Tuesday. During this time we have been meeting David’s old Rocky friends from running days. (pictured below is David running a 6.6km road race with the Rocky Road Runners). The funny thing is that we were casually driving past this spot admiring the view when we noticed it was the Rocky Road Runners preparing for a race. So we got out of the car and before long the race started!
We are also very fortunate to be staying with a family friend Luke Stevens who is an athlete himself and competed in the Mooloolaba Triathlon this weekend.During our stay in Rocky we have met with local Prostate Representative John Milne and have taken time out to collect for Prostate and Breast Cancer at the Stockland Shopping Centre Saturday which put us in front of many surprised locals who recognized David.
We are keeping up our training and are working out at Norm’s Gym as the start of the Outback Challenge is now only a month away.
Pictured is bike rider John from the Blue Mountains, who at 65 years decided to take time out to do something he has always wanted to do….ride solo around Australia.
David also borrowed a bike last Sunday and rode 65kms to Mt Morgan with local bike riders.
