We were fortunate to gain permission from the Manly Council to fund raise for Prostate and Breast Cancer at the exact spot in Manly where Dave finished his huge run on Australia Day.
Although the day started slow and threatened rain it soon got busy and we were inundated with people wanting to talk to Dave having read about him in the local papers or having seen him on TV.
We managed to collect $304 and it is our first experience (post the run) of fundraising. Our plans are to head north from this Saturday to Byron Bay keeping in touch with Prostate and Breast Cancer contacts in each of the towns and spend some time collecting.
THE OTHER NEWS IS THAT DAVE IS FEELING RESTLESS and he’s is planning a run with the barrow in May or June from Ayres Rock to Alice Springs and back . We are looking at giving the run an outback theme.
It is very much in the planning at the moment so we are open to ideas if anyone is interested in joining us.
