Yesterday was the first day I lost Dave. The highway is so busy there aren’t any lay-bys to pull over into and the growth on the median strip makes it difficult to see to the other side, and I ended up missing Dave the whole day and being 15kms ahead of him.
So I called for assistance on the Channel 40 Truckie line to see where he was. At first the drivers couldn’t believe what someone would be doing such a thing and thought it was funny thinking Dave was running the opposite direction to me.
But within minutes they had his location and a driver of a car listening to the conversation had pulled over to talk to Dave.
Today we are going to do 20kms which will put us near Picton. Right now I am parked up at a Mobil Roadhouse 7kms north of Dave.
Dave is feeling so fit he has taken to doing weights (with anything he can find around the van) each night after the run.
The darker picture above shows how thick the growth is. The other is of Dave ummm admiring the view?
Pictured is also Jack and Tommy of Goulburn shown givring Dave a donation.

Hi David & Jo- we are all counting down the days with you- we are so proud of you and your achievement and sooo pleased for you that you are not running into WA at this time – its very hot and even humid at the moment and not much relief in the ocean as we have quite a few big sharks on our stretch of the beach!!!! enjoy the slower pace and take care. xx ps- message on facebook
Hi Dave and Jo
This begs the question – what are you going to do to slow down on your run in to ensure you do not arrive days early?
Will Dave have to spend the bottom half of each hour running on the spot? Will he load the barrow with his impromptu workout weights and do a full workout every five kilomotres? Or will Jo decide to kill two birds with one stone, improving their fuel consumption by unhitching the trailer from the car, and hitching it to Dave instead?

Hi Chris
Good to hear from you. Slowing Dave down has been a problem. I think he still thinks I have the figures wrong which will leave him having to do big kms to get in on time or that he wont be able to run.
Today fortunately, he did do 20kms and tomorrow he will do the same if not less.
We aim to be at Manly where we are staying after the run, on Thursday. So on Friday Dave may do a short run, but on Saturday he will do the final 12kms from Hyde Park in Sydney CBD into Manly.
The 10th January date came about because Prostate wanted to organize media for him which looks like not happening to the extent as we had hoped.
It is feeling a little weird with Sydney so close.
Give our love to you and your Mum Jo and Davidxx
