With our arrival in Manly Sydney 10th January (approx 11am) we now have less than two weeks to the finish.
Last night we camped at the showgrounds at Jugiong. At 9pm a huge electrical storm hit and it poured down with rain for an hour. Because the pop up van doesn’t handle the wind too well we were very fortunate there also wasn’t much wind.
The previous night at Gundagai we were in an Ensuite site which has amenities next to the van, last night however, we were so far away from the amenities we had to hop in the car and drive to them!
Dave is still averaging 37kms is feeling tired but is in good health. He hurt his back lifting the generator in the van last night and although very sore and while running is not ideal, he is fortunately not bedridden.
To make matters worse, Dave has had to start the day off with a 6km hill with a gradient of 75% .
When you hear people say the streets are lined with gold Dave can testify that they definitely aren’t. Over the fourteen weeks of running at the side of the road he says he has only found 60 cents.

Hi, Just been reading your lastest blog to Daniel and showing him where you are now and how much further you’ve got to go. Dans reply was ” and when he gets there, is he going to run home again ? ” Nothing is ever enough is it ? !! xx
Hi Lyds, Nick and Boys
Grandad thinks that just getting to Sydney will be long enough. He plans to rest and go swimming and then he and Nanna will go on a holiday in their caravan.
Grandad also has a quiz for you to see if you can work it out. Its called the AUSSIEDUST QUIZ
Here it is
GRANDAD IS PUSHING HIS BARROW TOWARDS THE BLUE MOUNTAINS (IN AUSTRALIA)
Hint:THE MOUNTAINS ARE VERY STEEP
Hint:IT’S SUMMERTIME IN AUSTRALIA
GRANDAD SAYS IT’S H & H what does H & H mean?
First prize is Grandad’s pet spider called”Jaws” It just so happens that he left his pet spider at your house when he and Nanna were on holidays and he thinks it is in Dad’s football boots. He says it’s very friendly and only bites big people. Love Grandadxxx
A Wagga Wagga resident, Steve, said the Wagga Wagga is an aborignal word for place of many crows and over the years people have altered the pronunciation to what it is today WOGGA WOGGA. Love Nannaxxx
