Its now 34c and we are over halfway to Mildura. We will not make it into Mildura, but will drive in and stay at the Buronga Caravan Park for the night where we will also catch up with my brother Mike and his wife Helen for an early Christmas.
Yesterday we had a lovely surprise visit from youthful looking Paul Lamb, a cyclist we met on the road near Nundroo. Paul and and his crew Lesley and Ishabel were into their second week of a huge 3,500km cycle from Bendigo Victoria to Perth to raise awareness of good health habits- diet, exercise and spirituality using the cycle ride to show it can be done even at aged sixty.
It’s interesting to note that Paul had ridden a leisurely 300kms the day before!
On his Across Australia Ride Paul averaged over 180kms each day of the 21 day feat and last night we shared stories over a lovely meal at the Werrimull Hotel.
Dave said his feet compete with one another to see who gets first place.
He also says that he has four speeds running, jogging, shuffling (Cliff Young style) and walking and what he does depends on the weather, wind and road conditions.
