56kms in one day!

On Monday Dave did an incredible 56km run to Port Augusta from Iron Knob in cool conditions and a tailwind.  Pictured above is Dave taking a well earned break and soaking his feet in the river near our caravan site.

Its hard to believe but the very next day it rained then came in hot and humid.

Right now Dave is at the halfway point on the Eyre Highway heading to Port Pirie where we will stay the night.  It is already over 30c and very humid.

Dave is starting to feel weary but is reluctant to take any time off fearing that the heat will be settling  in any time soon which makes running that much more difficult especially as he is on the road for nine hours at a time.

We are up at 4.30am ..on the road at 7.00am and we finish at approximately 5.00pm.

The owners of the Shoreline Caravan Park in Port Augusta were wonderful and have donated our accomodation expenses.  For views of the Flinders Range and the river we highly recommend them as a lovely spot for visiting.  Port Augusta  is not unlike Fremantle with beautiful stone buildings and river.

Dave just called into the car for a bite to eat.  He’s feeling the heat as it now over 32c.  Fortunately his feet are settling down and although he is still have problems it is not like it was when he first started.
