Hi Everyone
Great News! At 11am Wednesday 12th November Dave ran into Ceduna after having run 1199kms across the Nullarbor and 487kms from the WA and South Australian border.
Our next major stop and the halfway point is Port Augusta which is 470kms from Ceduna.
Orginally we thought that the crossing would take 40 days, but with Dave averaging 38kms it brought it down to an incredible 30 days.
The barrow now has more holes in back of it to ease some of the wind pressure that collects in it. On some days the winds were so strong it took Dave 20minutes to do one kilometre. He says its like pushing two barrows.
Two days ago Dave had a scare when an overtaking car clipped the mirror on his barrow. Any closer and it could have been him.
We are hoping the ongoing problem with fuses blowing in the car has been solved with a new heavier dual system we had put on the car in Ceduna.
The flies have gotten so bad that we daren’t take our fly nets off. Dave says that they even ride on his barrow ..all 50,000 of them!
Just outside of Penong Dave saw a cross on the side of the road belonging to a West Australian Ultra Marathon Runner who was 57 years of age and died while running from Perth to Canberra in February 2001. Locals say that February is a dreadful time of the year.
Dave says a big thank you for all your messages. It gets pretty lonely out on the road.

Keep it up Uncle David – your doing soooo fantastically brilliantly magnificently well!! and some!! Ahead of schedule – amazing ! Poochera next – that sounds like a great place to be = it’s the nicest name – full of fluffy dogs – aahhhh – chasing running men and wheelbarrows!! Run away run away as fast as you can – they can’t catch you your the aussiedust man!!! Ha ha!!x
I am gong to launch an international enquiry as Dave seems to have been replaced by a strange bald man, not the same man that used to leave his hair dye out at my house.
Has Joanne even noticed that you are not Dave or is she keeping her new haircut secret.
Well done you mad things
Love Nick.
Hi to you all
It was a bit of a shock when I first saw Dave without his locks, but either Ive grown used to seeing him or it looks better than I thought it would.
Personally I think he shaved it off to gain more speed with the barrow like the cyclists do shaving their legs.
Dave says he’s not grey he’s blond! Besdes he’ll be saving a heap in hair colouring!
Jo
hey Jo and Dave
well done both, great watching your progress, keep on running!
