Hello from Nundroo…where’s that?

Hi Everyone

Firstly a belated happy birthday to Michelle, Oliver and Cameron xx

Well here we are at the Nundroo Roadhouse which is 150kms east of the Nullarbor Roadhouse after having camped out in the bush for two nights.

We arrived at Nundroo at 6.00pm Saturday with  Dave finishing 17kms west and are staying again tonight where  Dave will be 20kms east of here.   Nundroo is a suprise as it is the start of the wheat and sheep stations  which we havent seen for a long while.

In fact today is our 29th day on the Nullarbor, and by the time we reach Ceduna it will be a huge 31days! (Norseman  to Ceduna that is)

Dave is going well, but if you saw him you might be a little surprised because he has lost weight despite eating heaps of pasta, rice etc.  At this pace fresh food is difficult to find because Roadhouses only provide fast food.  So we deliberately stay two nights at each of the roadhouses to ensure Dave gets plenty of protein.

We  anticipate not having any problems declaring any fruit and vegetables cos we havent any!

The weather from Balladonia to here has been windy, windy and more windy. If its not a headwind is a crosswind or tailwind.  Sometimes it has been all three in one day!  Fortunately it hasnt been too hot, but we know that will change ajd hope it is later than sooner because the heat drains him.

We are still having problems with our van shorting the car.  We a few spare fuses and are replacing them as we need until we get into Ceduna or Port Augusta where we can get it looked at.  We have had a lot of help from people with this.

Dave says that he really appreciates the support he gets from passersby especially when they stop and chat to him.  The road into Nundroo is surprisingly hilly.  In fact its very hilly not unlike a snake disappearing into the sky.  It’s hard enough  remaining  focused in a car let alone running with a wheelbarrow!

We look forward to your comments and hope to be in touch more often now that we are coming into townships.
