Now with only two days to go David is feeling mentally and physically strong and ready for the task. He likes writing poetry, here is a little poem he wrote about success and reflects how he approaches life:
Success is speaking words of praise.
In cheering other peoples ways.
In doing just the best you can with each and every plan.
It’s silence when your speech would hurt.
Politeness when your neighbour’s curt.
It’s loyalty when duty calls.
It’s courage when disaster falls.
It’s patience when the hours are long.
It’s found in laughter and in song.
In all, in life and nothing less.
We find the thing we call success.
Dave says about this event: In all the years he has been running he has never been on the starting line when the starter says go and he has been the only one there.
Dave is looking to getting started soon after 8am this Sunday from the main carpark at Cottesloe Beach and is looking forward to supporters being at Cottesloe to see him off and to throw money into his barrow for Prostate and Breast Cancer.
